Andreea-Eliza Petrov

Andreea-Eliza Petrov (b. 1999) is a Romanian contemporary artist known for her reflective, materially rich work that explores the tension between destruction and creation, the cyclicality of life, and the interplay between light, shadow, and the passage of time.

Education & Practice

• She completed her bachelor’s and master’s studies in Painting at the National University of Arts in Bucharest.

• Her work often features heavy layers, cracking paint, and textures that highlight process as much as outcome—seeking a visual language that is both tactile and contemplative.

Style & Themes

• A central concern in her art is light—not just as an optical phenomenon but as a metaphor for internal ascent, transformation, and revelation.

• She often challenges or deconstructs aesthetic conventions, working in rich textures, experimenting with materiality, and constructing spaces that invite introspection and ritual.
